We take a break at Te Anau nestled on the edge of New Zealand's second largest lake. From Te Anau we head across the amazing Milford Road with towering peaks, tranquil lakes, crystal clear rivers and dense rain forest. Then its time for a cruise on the magnificent Milford Sound before heading back to Queenstown. This service is operated by Kiwi Discovery.
HOMER TUNNEL, MITRE PEAK, FIORD CRUISES
On one of your free days in Queenstown, we highly recommend taking a day trip to Milford Sound fiord, perhaps New Zealand’s most famous destination. This fantastic day trip will see you travelling alongside Lakes Wakatipu and Te Anau and through Fiordland National Park - all the while passing incredible scenery. The road journey itself is a highlight of the trip. When we arrive in Milford Sound we take a superb cruise on the Fiord, past thunderous waterfalls and hanging valleys and you might spot some endangered wildlife. Awe-inspiring whatever the weather.
Approximate arrival time in Queenstown is 7.00pm.
